How can I close my payment profile before selling my account?
It is important to close your payment profile; this will remove all your personal data from your Google Ads account before selling it.
Only the creator of a payment profile can close it. Make sure that you have no debt on your Google Ads account, otherwise you will not be able to close your payment profile.
Steps to close your payment profile:
01 /Prepare your Google Ads account: Make sure you have full access to your Google Ads account and payment information.
To make sure that you have access to the payment profile administrator's email, go to Google Ads - summary - settings - Users with access to the payment profile. There you will see which email is the administrator of the payment profile.
02 /Close your Google Ads account and turn off advertising.
Put all the companies on the slot and then go to your Google Ads account - settings - account status - close my account.
03 / Close your payment profile.
Go to payments.google.com, select the payment profile of the Google Ads account you want to close. After that, go to settings, scroll to the bottom and there is a “close my account” button.
*Also, if you have a payment profile in the form of a credit line on your Google Ads account, on such accounts the payment profile is reset automatically after transferring administrator rights to another email.
